Vatican: ضرورة الاعتراف بفلسطين ورفض “الإجراءات الاحتلالية المعاكسة التيار”

أكّد الفاتيكان، من خلال تصريحات لمسؤولين كبار، أن الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين ليس خيارًا بل واجبًا أخلاقيًا ودبلوماسيًا، مشدّدًا على أن بعض التصرفات التي تمارسها إسرائيل تُعد “إجراءات احتلال” تتعارض مع تيار القانون الدولي والمبادئ الإنسانية.
وأوضح الكاردينال بيترو بارولين، أمين سر دولة الفاتيكان، أن الدعوة إلى الاعتراف بفلسطين تأتي في سياق “المسؤولية التي تقع على كاهل المجتمع الدولي”، مؤكدًا أن تردّد بعض الدول في الاعتراف يُضعف من فرص السلام ويُشجّع على استمرار الانتهاكات ضد الفلسطينيين.
في تصريحات صحفية، لفت الكاردينال بارولين إلى أن الاعتراف بفلسطين يُعدّ خطوة محورية نحو تحقيق حل الدولتين، بحيث تعيش دولة إسرائيل إلى جانب دولة فلسطين في أمن وسلام. كما انتقد من يعتبر هذا الاعتراف “مبكرًا” أو “مضرًّا” بالعملية السياسية، واعتبر أن المماطلة في الاعتراف تُعدّ دعمًا ضمنيًّا للاستمرار في “الإجراءات الانفرادية” من جانب الاحتلال.
من جهتها، دائرة الإعلام في الفاتيكان أيضًا شجّعت على دعم فكرة الاعتراف، واعتبرت أن الصمت الدولي أو المواقف المترددة يرسّخان عدم توازن في النزاع، وأن الاعتراف العادل والمباشر بفلسطين يمكن أن يسهم في إعادة التوازن وفتح آفاق لحلّ شامل.
Vatican urges worldwide recognition of the State of Palestine
Vatican City, July 29 (Prensa Latina) — The Holy See hopes for progress toward a solution to the Middle East conflict with the establishment of two states, as a result of the UN Conference on Palestine, which concludes today in New York.
Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin emphasized this position in statements to the media, while lamenting the fact that this path “is becoming increasingly difficult also due to the situation that arose and continues to occur in the West Bank,” with Israeli settlements in that territory.
In this exchange with the press the day before, published on the Vatican News website, Parolin stressed the importance of “recognizing the two states, Israel and Palestine, so that they may coexist autonomously, but also in cooperation and security.”
The cardinal criticized those who consider recognizing the State of Palestine “premature” and reaffirmed his hope that the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Resolution of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, currently taking place at UN Headquarters, “will bear some fruit.”
In an editorial published in Vatican News last Saturday, the Holy See reiterated its call for recognition of the State of Palestine as a responsibility that the international community must assume.
